ABOUT US
In response to finding only a small number of businesses with ethnically diverse leadership in Plymouth and having the need to help newly settled BAMEs start-up businesses, our co-founders merged their passion and entrepreneurial ideas into creating a business incubation hub where everyone could get help with starting and growing a business.
Following many months in their own incubation centre, the founders Jabo Butera and David Feindouno formally set up Diversity Business Incubator on January 10th 2018. Their primary goal to aid both established and aspiring entrepreneurs, focuning on supporting the minority ethnicity community.
DBI wants to enhance their offering to inspire ambitions and reach other Minority communities within the South West Regions. With a key focus on nurturing and championing young talent, there is no age limit to apply for one of the services that DBI offers, just be passionate, willing and eager to learn.
We work with local businesses, including self-employed people and non-profit organisations, to find the right guidance and support to help their business work smarter and develop. We are anchored by our faith and willpower to help local communities and individuals to grow and gain knowledge in the business sector.
We constantly challenge ourselves to grow and cannot wait to see what amazing adventures the future holds for aspiring entreprenures on the DBI programme.
What is ‘BAME’?
BAME stands for ‘Black, Asian and Minority Ethnicities’. We focus on supporting people in this demographic but at DBI we believe that the inclusion of all ethnicities is essential for building a strong community.
